The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Digital Channels Backlash Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration. The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to review their products and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Modifications Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Required Changes Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
